Come hike with us through the breathtaking Dota region of Costa Rica, where lush cloud forests, steep mountain ridges, deep valleys, and vibrant tropical landscapes create an unforgettable hiking experience. Throughout the tour, we’ll explore the unique topography of the Costa Rican highlands, hiking through mountainous terrain, dense forests, and scenic valleys while experiencing the beauty of the region on foot.
Our adventure will begin and end at the AMCA House, providing a comfortable place to settle in at the beginning of the trip and rest before heading home. For the majority of our time, we’ll stay at La Cumbre (“The Summit”), an adventurous Christian camp located about 2½ hours southeast of San José near Cerro de la Muerte. Nestled 6 km down in a valley along the Savegre River, La Cumbre is surrounded by primary forest and offers a quiet, secluded environment for reflection, rest, and growth in Jesus Christ.
At La Cumbre, lodging and meals will be provided, with beds, pillows, blankets, sheets, and showers available to help us recharge after each day of adventure. In addition to hiking, participants will have opportunities to experience the camp’s rock-climbing wall and ropes courses, adding even more adventure to our time together.
We will not be visiting national parks on this tour. Instead, our hikes will take us through the Dota region and surrounding mountain communities, giving us an opportunity to experience the natural beauty and rugged landscape of Costa Rica beyond the typical tourist destinations.
This will be more than a hiking trip. It will be an opportunity to step into the mountains, challenge yourself physically, slow down spiritually, experience Christian community, and encounter God in the beauty of His creation. Come and Pray, Trek, Repeat with us for the Youth of Colombia!
Official 10-Week Tour Training Plan.
Our beneficiary, Formavida Foundation, has been ministering in Colombia since 2009. They have worked to provide children and youth there with a place where they can feel supported, discover abilities, and grow in an environment of learning and faith. Every contribution allows them to keep creating spaces where children and young people can receive support, develop their talents, strengthen their values, and discover new possibilities for their future. Will you help us meet the needs of these youth and #PrayTrekRepeat for the youth of Colombia?

16 years or older.
If under 18 must be with parent guardian.
Everyone will fly into SJO airport and stay at the AMCA house. The AMCA House is a hospitality ministry that provides comfortable overnight accommodations for faith-based groups. The AMCA house is situated in San Francisco de Dos Ríos, a charming suburb of San José.
Orientation will be a time of prayer, team building, and preparation for our time in Costa Rica. It is an important time to come together in unity and understand the safety and plan for the trip.
We will be sleeping at the AMCA house.
The morning of the 03/08, we will depart for the campground, La Cumbre. This Campgrounds hosts hundred of youth for adventure camp each year. On our hiking days, this looks like having breakfast, packing up and hitting the trail. In the evening, we will unpack, enjoy a warm dinner together and have worship before going to bed.
We will drive back to AMCA house from their campground La Cumbre.
Participants will fly home. We will provide designated shuttle time to the airport for you!
Participant registration costs pay for the event itself. The majority (90%) of all fundraising donations goes directly toward impacting youth served by our beneficiary in this county, in Jesus’ name. The remaining funds (10%) support the administrative costs for our parent organization, New International, a not-for-profit, which helps us do what we do even better. Tax deductible receipts and year end giving statements are provided to all event participants and donors. None of these funds go towards any of the Ends Adventures Crew members. We are all donor-supported missionaries. Find out more about our financial transparency and accountability standards on our About page.
This event will raise prayers, awareness and support for Formavida Foundation serving in Colombia. Funds raised from this event will help them keep creating spaces where children and young people can receive support, develop their talents, strengthen their values, and discover new possibilities for their future. Will you help us meet that goal and #PrayTrekRepeat or make a donation towards the youth of Colombia?
Are you, or someone you know, in your teens or twenties, interested in participating in this event, but having difficulty paying the registration fee? We may be able to help. Click below for more information and to apply for funding through the Paul Norton Memorial Scholarship Fund.
